Bio & Health Data Scientist

Would you like to contribute to the understanding of allergic diseases and have an impact to millions of people with allergic disease? Do you have a passion for solving biological and patient-relevant questions?

The Data Scientist position will be in the Bioinformatics Team within the Translational Research Department.

You will be part of interdisciplinary project teams with the responsibility to work with complex data sets from multiple sources across the organization, with the goal to solve key scientific questions as well as driving value by bridging both data and insights from research to clinical studies, but also to the allergic patient.

You will be involved in identifying patterns, trajectories or relevant features in biological & health related data generated by R&D, leading to for example population level estimations or patient level predictions. Aiming to improve the life of people with allergy, you will contribute to the understanding of allergy by the mapping of relevant subgroups across datasets: Data generated by basic research, data from clinical trials, insights from real world evidence studies and for example self-reported symptom scores linked to pollen exposure collected via an app.

You will play a key role in designing an applicable data solution driving that setup and will have the opportunity to influence workflows and approaches centred around data in Global Research.

Who you are

• You have a solid background in data science or bioinformatics to minimum MSc level, and preferably some years of experience with data analyses to support business needs.
• You enjoy working with biological as well as clinical and health care related data.
• You are an excellent problem solver, quickly understand stakeholder needs and can identify potential computational solutions.
• You have strong programming skills and know how to handle, analyse, and visualize data in R. R will also be used for statistical modelling of clinical trial data.
• You have substantial experience in delivering machine learning, data science or statistical solutions based on for example Python or R.
• You appreciate a solid data fundament and are ready to be involved in all steps from ideation and hypothesis generation, data extraction & harmonization to model evaluation & validation, result communication and potentially planning of lifecycle management.
• It would be considered an advantage if you have experience in creating dashboards and working with Git.
• You are proactive and enjoy identifying opportunities and driving value from data.
• You have high ethical standards and will be part of establishing best practices.
• You have excellent communication skills and can convey computational solutions to non-computational audiences.
